COACH TYLER MARTIN

As Program Director, League Director, and co-owner of Above Basketball Academy, Tyler Martin brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a winning pedigree to the program. A standout multi-sport athlete, Tyler played on three state championship teams at Providence High School—two in baseball and one in basketball. As a vital member of the 2010 Providence basketball team, ranked #6 nationally, he reached the 1,000-point milestone by the end of his high school career. Tyler went on to sign with UCF for baseball and later continued his athletic journey at Valdosta State, where he shifted sports to play basketball.

After college, Tyler served as a graduate assistant with the Florida State University men's basketball team during the 2016-2017 season, where he contributed to a team that reached a #6 national ranking and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. Returning to Jacksonville, he helped build Above Basketball Academy from the ground up, contributing to its expansion, including the World Golf Village location. In addition to his work with Above, Tyler has been an integral part of the high school basketball community. He served as head assistant coach at Ponte Vedra High for four years before moving to Providence, where he is now in his fourth year coaching alongside his father.

With his impressive background and dedication to player development, Tyler is committed to providing an exceptional basketball experience for athletes of all ages at Above Basketball Academy.
