COACH JIM MARTIN

 
Jim Martin has been the head coach of Providence School for 20 years and this his 25th year coaching overall. In that time period, Coach Martin has won three FHSAA State Championships (2010, 2013, 2015) and has made five State Finals appearances. Since 2010, four of his teams have been nationally ranked in the top 25. He has a career record of 521 wins and 109 losses. Coach Martin has been honored with the FABC Coach of the Year and Florida Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year award twice each. He has had the opportunity to see many of his players succeed at the college level, including former Duke star, 2014 McDonald’s All-American, and current player of the Utah Jazz, Grayson Allen. He has also coached 2010 McDonald’s All-American, Patric Young, and has produced over 45 college basketball players in total.
 
Coach Martin is a 1981 graduate of Jacksonville University and was a four-year starter in their basketball program. Today, Coach Martin is considered to be one of the top coaches in the state of Florida. He speaks at clinics all over the southeast and is extremely passionate about basketball. He loves teaching kids the game and understands the right way to play this wonderful sport.
